Against the backdrop of the last two
gripping matches Kotoko has played at the Golden City Park and
the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Michael Mensah and David Ofei have
encouraged Kotoko fans not to shirk their responsibility of
galvanising more support for the team.
According to the two players, supporters of the club has a duty
to rally behind the team both in difficult and rosy times since
that was one way through which the players would feel motivated.
The
two players who have enjoyed league action this season made this
known in an interview last week. “We are committed to the team;
we want to do our best. And we expect our supporters to do the
same” said David Ofei who started the two league games against
Berekum Arsenal and Mighty Jets at the Golden City and Baba Yara
Sports Stadium respectively.
While maintaining that the supporters have a crucial role to
perform, Michael Mensah who started his first league match in
Kumasi on Wednesday also touched on his performance.
“The going was okay. I played to instructions; I tackled but did
not receive the passes well.
So I
switched off; the coach pushed me to the middle and things
changed” said Mensah.
