The call on supporters of Kotoko to contribute to the welfare of
the club continues to receive attention.
In Accra last Saturday, the Dr. K. K Sarpong
administration was given a huge relief when ace businessman,
Kennedy Agyapong, the MD of Kenpong Construction Ltd, announced
in a meeting with management to finance the camping bills of the
club’s remaining away matches for the year.
By his gesture, a major chunk of the club’s
biweekly recurrent expenditure has been taken care of, thanks to
the magnanimity of the man who loves Kotoko to the hilt.
Addressing the short meeting with the
management members, Kenpong described his decision as his modest
contribution to the success of the club.
“Even though this is not too much, I want
to use this modest contribution to draw attention of other
supporters of the club who are in a position to assist the club
to come out and help..
“Dr. Sarpong and his management team have
been doing so well for the team and since the work at Kotoko is
a huge financial task, it is only proper that we all come up to
assist.
“Let me also use this platform to announce
to the players that I have put up a huge and enticing package
that will be handed to the team when they win the 2011/12 Glo
Premier League”.
To concretize his commitment to the club,
Kennedy will present Gh¢10,000 cash to the club on Friday, Nov
25 whilst the balance, as per the budget will be handed in per
an agreed payment plan.
This news of the Kenpong’s gesture comes to
the Executive Chairman, Dr. K. K Sarpong with great joy as he
spoke to Kotoko Express at the team’s camping base in
Accra.
“I am very grateful to Mr. Agyapong for his
great support. I encourage him and all other like-minded
supporters to help. No amount is too small or too big for the
club. Even if you have Gh¢20, don’t feel bad, just bring it to
Kotoko and we will graciously accept it, thank you for it and
put it into productive use.
“As I have always maintained, all monies
donated to the club will be properly used to the last pesewa and
also accounted for as well,” he added.
