Dansoman Fabulous Ladies to meet
parent body

The executive of Dansoman Fabulous
Ladies plan to soon meet the leadership of the national body
Fabulous Ladies based in Kumasi
to officially introduce the
Accra
branch and deliberate on measures to strengthen the female
supporters’ wing of Asante Kotoko. FC
The
Dansoman Fabulous Ladies have been holding meetings and
traveling to watch the team’s matches both at home and away for
months now. As a female supporters’ group of Kumasi Asante
Kotoko their activities must be under the watch and also
coordinated by their parent body based in Kumasi.
Chairperson of the Dansoman group, Ivy Vera Kodua says a date
for the important meeting would soon be announced.
“We
have been made aware of the need to meet with our mothers in Kumasi to officially introduce ourselves and
also discuss ways in which we can better organise ourselves to
support the team”.
She
disclosed this in an interview with Kotoko Express
at the Lizzy Sports Complex in East
Legon, Accra where she and her
members took part in a number of fun games.
The complex is owned by
Ghanaian born former French International, Marcel
Desailly.
The event which was organized by a Dansoman
based event organization; Global Touch Productions aimed at
encouraging women to participate in sports and exercise. It
brought together many participants such as Ghana Most Beautiful
contestants from TV3, Face of Volta beauty pageant contestants,
Big Girls Club based at Osu as well as Face of Legon beauty
pageant contestants.
Wearing their attractive jeans with white
tops which had Fabulous Ladies boldly written in front, Ivy and
her members became the centre of attraction when they stormed
the multi-purpose sports centre. People were really impressed
and commended them for their dedication to Asante Kotoko.
After taking some refreshment, the Fabulous
Ladies as well as other participants really enjoyed themselves
with activities such as swimming, ampe and playing cards.
DJ Laposta from Hitz FM who doubled as the
MC for the occasion also played top hits, mostly hip-life,
to keep the participants on their feet. A lady by name
Abena Dede from the Big Girls Clubs stole the show with the new
dance in town “azonto” that involves strenuous waste wriggling.
In football, Faith Ladies from Bubuashie
beat Awoshie based Ideal Ladies 3-1 to emerge winners in a four
team gala competition which was played for 40 minutes, 20
minutes in each half. Rose Nyarkowaah, Aisha Simpson and Raisa
Morrison scored for Faith Ladies while Vinoria Kuzagbe scored
the consolation goal for Idea Ladies.
On their way to the finals Ideal Ladies
defeated Taifa Ladies 1-0 courtesy Vinoria Kuzagbe. Faith Ladies
on the other hand beat Rock Ladies, also from Bubuashie 2-0 to
reach the finals. The two goals came from Belinda Morgan and
Raisa Morrison.
In the game for third place, Rock Ladies
beat Taifa Ladies 3-1 on penalties after a goalless draw in
regulation time.
The
CEO of the Global Touch Productions, Charity Tenkorang expressed
her heartfelt gratitude to all the participating groups who
helped to make the program a success.
