Fans of Kotoko and family and friends of
burly striker, Ben Acheampong have every reason to thank God for
his mighty hand that saved the player from a fatal accident.

The player, Ben Acheampong, was returning to
town after training at the Adarko Jarchie Training Grounds on
Friday afternoon when the Toyota Echo Saloon car on which he was
travelling developed a mechanical fault that, but for the grace
of skidding into the sandy and getting stuck in a roadside,
could have somersaulted.
According to the driver, who happens to be
Ben's close pal, he noticed that the front tyre had ceased
turning thereby making the steering stiff.
"I therefore used all my energy to turn the
steer to the right lane and finally into the sand. It was the
only option I had, and I am happy that I took that decision,"
the driver said.
Though the frontage of the car was badly
damaged, the driver and Ben Acheampong who was comfortably
relaxing in the front passenger seat escaped without harm or
injury, thanks to their usage of the Seat Belt.
Despite none of the people on board the
vehicle sustaining an injury, Special Assistant to the executive
Chairman, Opoku Nti, Listowel Yesu Bukarson and Coaches Maxwell
Konadu and Sarfo Castro who came to the accident scene strongly
recommended that they be sent to a hospital for a thorough
examination.
It would be recalled that Ben Acheampong
started training some three weeks ago after he he was knocked
off the game by a knee injury that took him three months to
recover.
