Am grateful to all-Ahmed Toure

2010/11 PLB and MTN FA Cup Most Valuable player, Ahmed Toure, has expressed his heartfelt appreciation and thanks to all who in diverse ways helped in the resolution of the “small impasse” that he created in the final preparation towards last Sunday’s sweet victory over AshGold.

Speaking to Kotoko Express after he had contributed his part in the emphatic defeat of their regional opponents, AshGold at the Baba Yara Stadium, Toure says he has learnt a great lesson from that moment of his indiscretion and promises never to put up such a behavior again.

“Much as whatever happened last Friday at training was not pre-conceived, neither did I intend to rock any boat, I must say that the greatest lesson I have learnt from my short difficulty is that, I can never take the hearts and passions of Kotoko supporters for granted.

“In all this, I also thank those who contributed by putting in a word for me. I am especially grateful to board member Emmanuel Owusu Ansah and the management members who were present at training for the wonderful damage control they did on my behalf”.

Toure had extremely kind words for Coach Maxwell Konadu.

“The Coach is a person I have always respected greatly and the way he tactfully handled my issue has enhanced my respect and appreciation for him even the more. I thank him so much for the decision he took concerning my behaviour and I must say that I have also taken the pieces of advice he gave me in good faith and will be implementing them for my own good”.

Toure was as usual very effective last Sunday and he created a beautiful chance for Nathaniel Asamoah to finish off for Kotoko’s second goal in the thrilling regional derby.

“Coach Maxwell has taught us many tactical plans and I must say that through him, I have come to appreciate the fact that I must play to my strength and that is using me as a decoy to create as many goals as I could for my colleagues to finish off. We have been taught that it does not pay to be a selfish player and as such, as many chances as come our way must be shared by allowing the one at the most advantageous position to score”.

“This is something we have been rehearsing at the training grounds and I know things would be better for us,” he added.
