Kotoko’s Executive Chairman, Dr. K. K. Sarpong has advised the
teeming fans of the club to respect the views and opinions that
would be expressed by the Board of Directors and Management of
the club on the report submitted by the three-member committee
that was set-up to investigate events that led to the
cancelation of the chairmanship election of the Ashanti Regional
Circles Council (ARCC).
Dr.
K. K. Sarpong gave the advice on Tuesday at the club’s
secretariat when he received the report of the committee which
was established last month. “Whatever we think we will take out
of this report to advance the course of the club, we will do so.
We crave your indulgence to respect the opinions that the
board and management will come out with on the report. I am
quite confident that this report will give us the foundation on
which to build a lasting peace” he said.
The
Executive Chairman continued that the board and management of
the club would closely study the report and make their views
known by the close of this month. The committee chaired by the
former Offinso South Municipal Chief
Executive, Honourable Freddy Amponsah started work on September
20 and ended on October 14, 2011.
Honourable Amponsah in his presentation said
parties invited by the committee collaborated well. He added
that they experienced no difficulty in their work. The committee
chairman disclosed that the report covered three areas namely
the Minutes of their Sittings, Findings and Recommendations.
Recalling some spurious media reports that made rounds even when
the committee had not completed its work, a member of the
committee, Kwaku Nsiah Yeboah, advised the media to seek
accurate information on issues that they report on, a point that
was supported by the committee chairman and secretary to the
committee, Lawyer Marie-Louise Simmons.
