Bechem United in deep trouble

Newly promoted Premier League side, Bechem United maybe planning
well to avoid their third successive defeat in the 2011/2012 Glo
Premier League.
However, against Asante Kotoko – a team that has vowed to
overcome any side that comes its way, the league debutants
probably must come another time as trouble awaits them in
Sunday’s league encounter in Kumasi.
Kotoko technically will play away from home because the Brong
Ahafo team decided from the start of the season to use the Baba
Yara Sports Stadium as their home.
Against the backdrop that Kotoko’s support base, needless to say
is overwhelmingly bigger than what Bechem United has, coupled
with the increasing fine performance being exhibited by Coach
Maxwell Konadu and his players, the talk already in town is that
trouble awaits Bechem United who are yet to win a game and not
surprisingly are also languishing at the bottom of the 16-team
league table.
Answering questions on the apparent weaknesses of his next
opponent, Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu told Kotoko Express on
Sunday that he and his players would not underrate their
opponents. “We do not want to think that they are not strong. I
will not even buy that. They are a Premier side. And we are
going to treat them as such” he maintained.
The
Kotoko coach however predicted a win for his side saying: “We
will be cautious in our approach. We will see what we can do. I
believe that we will work hard to beat Bechem United”. Kotoko
did not train yesterday but are scheduled to resume training
this morning and the training sessions will continue at the
Adako Jachie training field throughout the week.
