For their splendid performance that saw the
team coming from a 2-1 down to secure a final 2-3 victory from
the clutches of an exciting Bechem United side, Team Kotoko have
drawn a lot of commendation and congratulations from supporters
of the club.
As a witness to the match and the tension
thereof, the vice chairman of the Brong Ahafo Circles’
Council(BARCC) and also the Chairman for Circle 43 of Sunyani,
Kingsley Abeyie, has sent a special message of commendations and
congratulations to management, the technical and the playing
body for the wonderful display of gallantry in a match that
Kotoko had to come from behind to seal victory.
According to him, though Bechem United
chose to play their home match at the Baba Yara Stadium, the
match was still their council’s operation and so they did not
relax on their oars as per the preparation for the match.
On the match, he expressed satisfaction at
the determination with which Kotoko players re-organized
themselves and stepped up their fight when Bechem United jumped
into lead.
“I was delighted with the way the team
turned the scoring table in our favor. Coach Maxwell lived up to
his tactical astuteness by changing the game plan and also
making some brave substitutions”.
“I am happy and thankful to the team for
doing the supporters good with their splendid performance”.
As their contribution to the clarion call
by management on all supporter groups in the country to rise to
their responsibilities by assisting the team to win all their
matches be it home or away, the BARCC says they are up to the
challenge set by management.
“Kotoko is scheduled to play four matches
against Brong Ahafo teams and so we of the BARCC have launched
Operation 12 points, aimed at ensuring that Kotoko win all the
matches to be played in our region”.
“Playing against Bechem United was the
first of those matches and we are happy that together, we all
did our individual parts to ensure that Kotoko won. It is an
issue of one down, three more to go and we are going to continue
with the preparation for those matches”.
Kingsley also sent a special message to his
fellow supporter groups by calling on them to assist management
in their quest to win trophies and honors for the club.
“Much as supporters have been doing well in
their support of the club, it is important for us to rise up and
channel all our results to management by easing the heavy
financial burdens on the team”.
“Our contribution, no matter how small or
big they may be will go a long way to help ease the pressure on
management. Dr. Sarpong has assured us of winning trophies this
season and he can only do it when we actively get involved,” he
ended.
