The nagging power and
electoral crises that is threatening to break the Ashanti
Regional Circles’ Council front will soon belong to history as
proactive steps are being taken to nip the issue in the bud.
In that
line, Executive Chairman, Dr. K. K Sarpong will today inaugurate
a three-member fact finding committee to investigate the causes
of the impasse and make recommendations on how best the issue
could be resolved for the betterment of santé Kotoko FC.
The three
member committee is to be headed by Honourable Kwaku Amponsah, a
former Municipal Chief Executive of Ofinso and also a former
Ashanti Regional boss of COCOBOD. He holds a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Social sciences.
Other
members of the committee are Mr. Kwaku Nsiah, holder of a
Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a Building and
road Contractor, and finally Ms. Marie Louis Simons, an Attorney
at the Attorney General’s Office.
Per their
appointment, they would have undertake and wind up their
assignment before the end of the month of September.
According
to Administrative Manager, Benjamin Nti, the Executive Chairman
and his Board and management team are committed to starting the
coming season on a good note and as such they will endeavor to
end all such problems and challenges in the club before the
league starts.
It will
be recalled that there has been a gathering tension in the
Ashanti Regional Circles’ Council since the month of July as a
result of the disqualification of a contestant to the regional
chairmanship position by the National Circles’ Council on what
they said to be “constitutional and technical grounds”.
The
disqualified person, Benjamin Obeng, therefore resorted to seek
redress in the law courts.
He was
impressed on by the Executive Chairman to withdraw his law suit
and rather go for an out of court settlement to the issue.
