Kotoko striker, Ahmed Toure,
stands a good chance of winning the 2011 MTN FA Cup Most
Valuable Player award almost one week after being named as the
2010 /2011 Glo Premier League, Player of the Season.
Toure beat Chelsea’s Emmanuel Clottey and Heart of Lions’
Gladson Awako to win the league’s prestigious award last
Saturday at the Banquet Hall of the State House.
This Sunday at the plush Movenpick Hotel in Accra, the
24-year-old player will face stiff competition again from Heart
of Lions’ Gladson Awako and two Nania FC players namely Lawrence
Lartey and Prince Baffoe.
The
Ivorian attacker was instrumental in the performances that
ensured Kotoko’s qualification to the grand finale of the FA Cup
where they lost by 0-1 to Nania FC at the Ohene Djan Sports
Stadium.
Notwithstanding that painful loss,
pundits have tipped Ahmed Toure who has declared his intention
of switching nationality to feature for Ghana, to win the MTN FA
MVP award.
Toure, it would be recalled joined Kotoko at the beginning of
the second round of the 2010/2011 season and his sterling show
in the team’s matches continue to attract media reviews. Below
is the full list of nominees for
2010/2011 MTN FA Cup awards.
