Information available to Kotoko Express indicates that no
written offers have come in for Kotoko striker, Ahmed Toure and
all other players who excelled during the club’s 12-day tour of
Serbia.
There have been many media reports that the Ivorian striker and
many other players are likely to leave Kotoko for clubs in
Serbia yet speaking on these reports last Thursday in an
interview with Kotoko Express, Executive Chairman, Dr. K. K.
Sarpong was categorical that the club has received no written
offers for Toure or any other player.
“I
have not had any offer yet” said Dr. Sarpong. “If I have any
offer, I will review it and then I will know what to do. At the
moment, no written offer has come” stressed the Kotoko leader
who maintained that the issue of players being sold has been
blown out of proportion.
“This issue of sale of players is being over bloated! I mean it
is being exaggerated!
We will sell players if we have offers, very good offers.
We are not going to sell players for pittance. We are going to
sell them for good value.
He
restated that no offers have come for any player. So far I do
not have any concrete offer but if the offers come they will be
considered and reviewed. Dr. Sarpong expressed delight with the
performance of the players during the tour of Serbia.
“All the players who played excelled. A lot of interests have
been expressed but in the football industry until we get written
offers and we have gone through the negotiations, we will not
make any conclusion that we have sold any player” he explained.
Dr.
Sarpong reiterated his vision for Kotoko is to essentially
rebuild structures for the future. The immediate task according
him, however, include
“Trying to get a better office, better training facilities,
better technical bench, and better players”.
He
announced that Kotoko would soon unveil players it has recruited
for the 2011/2012 season saying,
“We have brought in some new refreshing names; one or two from
outside the country” with the rest coming from the domestic
scene.
