Malik Jabir tips Kotoko to beat Nania

The Technical Director of Kotoko, Malik Jabir, has predicted that although Nania FC is a formidable and well-organised side, they would find it extremely difficult to beat the Porcupine Warriors in the MTN FA Cup final.

The match is slated for the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra. In the opinion of Malik Jabir, Nania FC would surely give Kotoko a good run for their money but they would end up as the vanquished side because the fabulous lads really have the wherewithal to contain and overpower them no matter the level of their strength and teamwork.

The Kotoko technical brain made the prediction when speaking to Kotoko Express in a post match interview on Wednesday night when Kotoko had beaten All Stars 5-4 on penalties in the semi final match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The game ended goalless after 120 minutes of grueling action. Kotoko like they did against Aduana Stars in the quarter final round did not disappoint as they shot with precision and finesse to edge out their opponents setting the stage for the grand finale against the club owned by former Black Stars captain, Abedi Ayew Pele.

Malik Jabir gave a fair assessment of Wednesday match describing it as difficult.

“It was difficult for Kotoko and All Stars. Both teams played well. I think that is the spirit of any good competition” he said.

“We wanted to score using the middle but they packed that area. We should have rather operated on the wings.

All the same, it was a good game” stressed Malik Jabir who conceded that the absence of striker Ahmed Toure affected Kotoko’s performance.

“He is one of us. You could see there was a gap in [attack]. We wish he was part of it. We did not have things that way. The important thing now is that we won. We will have to prepare for the final. I believe Kotoko will win but it is a final! Nobody can guess right. Football is not a guessing game” ended Malik Jabir.
