Bogdan Korak

Coach Bogdan Korak has told Kotoko Express
that although he would have wanted one of his potent strikers
Ahmed Toure to be part of his team for next season, he cannot
prevent the player’s imminent departure except to say that
irrespective of his useful contributions to the team, there
would be good replacements for him and any other player who
leaves.
According to the coach, the decision to sell
the Ivorian striker is one that he cannot disagree with as the
most important thing for him is to find good players to take
over. The Serbian trainer made these remarks when speaking to
this paper last week after his side beat Medeama SC 2-1 in the
Glo Premier League play-off game at the Ohene Djan Sports
Stadium.
“It is the decision of the club of which I
am part of. I cannot prevent it. For me and every member of the
club especially the President, the important thing is to look
for good players to help the team next season” said Coach Bogdan
Korak through his interpreter, K. K. Aryeh.
Since news broke that Kotoko intends to sell
Ahmed Toure and some other good players, supporters of the club
have been expressing fears about the possibility of not getting
good replacements for the outgoing players. If everything goes
well, the departing players could comprise Awal Mohammed,
Michael Akuffu, Yaw Frimpong, Nathaniel Asamoah, Ahmed Toure and
Daniel Nii Adjei who particularly has served Kotoko
satisfactorily for four seasons.
On Wednesday at the Ohene Djan Sports
Stadium, after Kotoko had beaten Medeama 2-1 in the Glo Premier
League play-off, most of the supporters that mobbed strikers
Ahmed Toure and Nathaniel Asamoah for instance frightfully
pleaded with the two attackers not to leave.
However, commenting on what clearly was a
natural response from the fans, Coach Bogdan Korak appealed to
them not to be worried but rather throw their weight behind the
team as efforts are being made to get the right talents to
ensure progress. “My word to all them is that they should not
give up on the team because some players are leaving. They
should support us. We will work hard to give them good result”
said Korak.
