A retired Assistant Superintendent of
Police (A.S.P), Mr. Audland Kwasi Dapaah,
has asked Kotoko supporters to exhibit utmost respect
in their dealings with fellow supporters and leaders of
the club as it is the only way they can foster the needed unity
to move the club forward.
He has also advised non-affiliated
supporters of the club to join Circles so that they could be
channelled into a stronger backbone for the club.
A.S.P Dapaah made these submissions when he
took the floor to speak at the National Circles’ Council (N.C.C)
delegates congress held at the offices of the Ashanti Regional
House of Chiefs in Kumasi last weekend.
According to the respected retired police
officer, Kotoko can boast of all sorts of high profile
professionals whom the club could harness for stronger benefit
of the club.
“However and unfortunately, almost all
these people have stayed away from the club and the circles
because they do not want any one to run their hard earned
reputation into the mud”.
“When one hears the kind of comments most
supporters make about people and the leadership of the club, one
can only take a safe posture by staying away”.
He advised that the club needed unity to
have the right mentality to excel and so it behoved on
supporters of the club to provide that environment for
management to be able to smoothly run the affairs of the club to
an expected end.
Concluding his brief yet impressive speech,
he admonished supporter to help kill rumour mongering and
speculation in the club as those have been driving the team into
crisis.
“People have been feeding supporters with
wrong information because fans of Kotoko are not joining the
circles where their leaders can get them the true and correct
inside information”.
“I have the conviction that when people
begin to identify themselves with the circles, the body would
become stronger and their bargaining power pertaining to their
relationship with management would be enhanced”.
“When that happens, a direct access to
management and insider information will help the fans to be
abreast with the real situation on the ground in the team, and
this will help kill the misinformation and rumour mongering that
is so rife in Kotoko,” he concluded.
