The Kotoko family worldwide would have
a great cause to celebrate and be joyous today when the owner
and spiritual leader of the Great Asante Kotoko SC, Otumfuo Osei
Tutu II performs the ceremonial ground breaking for the
commencement of the Phase Two of the Adarko Jarchie Training
Complex.
The
training ground, which has been in use since the start of the
2010/11 season, does not have much to boast off aside having two
good training fields that would be the envy all other Ghanaian
Premier League Centres apart from those of Baba Yara and Ohene
Djan Stadia, Essipong and Tamale Stadia, and the Len Clay
Stadium.
Per the
drawing and architectural schematics as seen by Kotoko Express,
the Training Complex Project has been planned to be in three
phases.
The first
Phase was the construction and fencing of the two fields and the
demarcation of the remaining land space.
With that
one finished and used effectively, the second phase would see a
storied structure being erected to cater for other pressing
needs such as changing and shower rooms, conference rooms,
dining room with an attached kitchen, office spaces for the
technical staff and other important facilities as would be so
determined and designated for use.
In
addition, the structure would also have on the other side
terraces where fans and visitors to the training camp can sit to
watch their darling club do their business.
The
project is being financed by a certain component of the MTN
Sponsorship money and is expected to be completed in a record
time as the funds as hinted Kotoko Express, are available and
has been yearning for usage since day one of the signing of the
Kotoko-MTN pact.
The
showpiece of the afternoon would be the presence of His Majesty
the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II who be making his first
Official visit to the grounds since the completion of the first
phase.
Kotoko
fans are expected to be throng to Adarko Jarchie site in their
numbers to witness the making of history in Ghanaian football
administration and corporate sponsorship.
