Asante Kotoko centre back, Ofosu Appiah
alias Escobar, has told Kotoko Express that his reengagement
with his colleagues and the team for that matter at the Adarko
Jachie training ground gives him a good feeling.
According to the fine defender, who started
training nearly three weeks ago following a disciplinary action
taken against him, he is still a strong and tough defender.
Ofosu Appiah, it will be recalled was
suspended after breaking a club regulation that bars him from
going on radio without explicit permission from management.
His case was further aggravated when he made
some spurious allegations against the club in the said radio
interview. He was consequently slapped with a one month
suspension. Weeks after serving the suspension, Ofosu Appiah
certainly does not seem to have lost the strength and
performance that once made his the fans’ favourite.
He first performed in the reserve league
match between Kotoko and King Faisal a couple of weeks back and
last Sunday he also featured prominently in the trial match
against New Edubiase United at Bekwai, which Kotoko lost by a
lone goal.
Prior to his substitution which was
occasioned by a foot injury, Ofosu Appiah had performed well
partnering Ohene Brenya at his favourite central defense
position.
Escobar says that he feels good to be back. “I am very fine. I
have been training but it’s been mainly running and other
physical work because of my long absence. I am yet to train
properly with the team. All the same, everything is okay and I
am happy to be back. I feel good” said the defender.
