Newly appointed
Board Member, Jerry Asare, has said that he is not back to
Kotoko to further any personal ambition but to rather help build
and properly develop the club he loves so much.
According to Jerry Asare who was named as a
member of the Kotoko Board of Directors last week, he is
returning to the club with maturity and experience, something he
believes would help lift the performance and image of the club.
“It is not an individual affair. It is all
about teamwork. I will work according to the laid down
structures. When we win, we win together; when we draw, we draw
together and when we lose, we lose together,” said Jerry Asare
in an interview on Asempa FM’s Sports Night show last Friday.
Jerry Asare’s first official association
with Kotoko was during the administration of Major Yaw Larson,
when he was appointed as the Accra Representative.
He however became the Operations Director in
Sylvester Asare Owusu’s five-member management. Commenting on
his previous Kotoko experiences, Jerry Asare disclosed that he
has taken whatever happened in the past in good faith. He said
he prefers looking at the roles he and other leaders in current
administration could play to ensure the growth of the great
club.
Jerry Asare lauded the efforts of Dr. K. K.
Sarpong, the Board of Directors and the entire management team.
“Dr. K. K. Sarpong is an experienced leader.
I like his style of leadership – the excellent way of working
and going about things” he stated.
“It is the duty of all members to work for
success of the club. It is not an individual affair” the former
management member stressed.
Known for his strict disciplinarian
attitude, Jerry Asare argued that discipline, managing things
well and understanding are examples of the hallmarks of every
good management continuing that Dr. K. K. Sarpong and his team
of managers have so far demonstrated these good traits.
The Board Member was also full of praise for
the Owner and Life Patron of the club, the Asantehene, Otumfuo
Osei Tutu II.
“I thank Otumfuo for the confidence he has
reposed in me. It is a great honour and challenge and I have to
justify it. I am going to be more passionate about the
development of the club,” said Jerry Asare.
In addition, he expressed his profound
gratitude to all who have been calling and congratulating him
for his latest appointment.
