Information available to Kotoko Express
indicates that the three Ivorian players who started training
with Kumasi Asante Kotoko a couple of weeks ago have
successfully undergone and passed their medical examinations at
a renowned medical establishment in Kumasi.
The players – Balh Ben Adama, a defender;
Kouakou Serge Pacome, midfielder, and Blagnon Goue Frederic
Noel, an attacker – all from Africa Sports of Cote d’Ivoire
according to Asante Kotoko Team Doctor, Kwaku Boateng, scored
high marks in the various tests.
Briefing Kotoko Express at press time, the
team doctor disclosed that all is well with the players and that
they are in good medical condition.
First among the various medical examinations
taken on the three players and supervised by Dr. Kwaku Boateng
include the Electro Cardio Gram (ECG) which measured the
activities of the heart.
Aside blood investigations to determine
their blood group and sickling status, Dr. Boateng revealed that
other tests conducted were the ultra sound scan of important
internal organs well as well as x-ray examinations.
“We wanted to know whether their kidney and
other organs had no problem. Was also examined the bones and
joints. The results show that they are in good health” said the
Kotoko doctor.
Dr. Boateng indicated that they should have
added field assessments to the test but because the trio had
already started training sessions with the team, they had to
shelve that.
“We should have done field assessment with
the collaboration of the Physical Trainer. However, we did not
do it because the players were already training with the team”
said Dr. Kwaku Boateng.
This
is not the first time Kotoko has run medical tests on players it
intends to recruit. Prior to the start of last season and even
before the second round of the current league got underway,
similar tests were conducted the
medical team of the club before all the new players
registered.
