PRESS RELEASE: KOTOKO DENIES MEDIA SPECULATION OF
TRANSFER-LISTING PLAYERS.
Date: 30-04-11
The attention of the Management of Kumasi
Asante Kotoko SC has been drawn to a bizarre speculation being
made by certain media houses that some players have been
transfer-listed.
This speculation, without any shred of
evidence, has not only hurt the spirit and unity of the team
ahead of our crucial premier league tie against Kpando Heart of
Lions on Monday 2nd April, 2001 but has also severely
dented the hard won corporate image of the club.
Ordinarily, Management would have thought
that the denial of the story by the Ag. Public Relations Manager
would have put the matter to rest. Conversely, majority of the
radio stations continue to repeat such unfounded speculation.
We therefore wish to place on record that
this is untrue and that none of the team mates have been
transfer-listed.
To this end, all media houses are kindly
advised to double check their sources of information on Kotoko
to forestall potential negative reports inimical to the
advancement of our beloved Club, thereby straining the existing
cordial relationship between Kotoko and the media.
Management wish to express its affirmed
solidarity to our cherished players who have been justifiably
affected by these concocted media reports, schemed to create
instability in the team.
We also take this opportunity to apologize
to the families and relations of our dear players who in diverse
ways have been unduly affected by these fabrications.
To the millions of our avowed supporter who
have been badly bruised by this reportage, we say, handle these
reports as mere rumor.
Management would also like to entreat the
media to handle information about our Club with circumspection.
