significant change between the situation he came to meet and
what pertains at the moment.
The 51-year-old technical handler who has
been in-charge of the Porcupine Warriors from November 2010 told
Kotoko Express in an interview earlier this week that he is very
happy with the kind of support he has received from the players
as well as the performance they have shown lately.
“Kotoko is doing well. When I came, we were
13th on the table. Today we are at 2nd
position. Everything is good and I am happy,” said Coach Bogdan
Korak.
In the match against King Faisal, Kotoko
shot into the lead in the second half of that thrilling game but
King Faisal cancelled to draw level following a bad goalkeeping
error 8 minutes from full time.
A stupendous long range bullet from the foot
of Ivorian striker, Ahmed Toure however saw Asante Kotoko
clawing back into the game to send thousands of their followers
at the stadium into euphoric mood.
A similar situation had been seen four days
earlier in the Kotoko-Aduana Stars MTN FA Cup match where the
fabulous boys this time went down by a goal but equalised and
jump into the lead and sadly surrendered their slim lead
courtesy a misjudgment on their goalkeeper.
They however emerged triumphant with after
an 11-10 marathon penalty shootouts.
Addressing these developments in a question
posed by the paper on how his players have managed to deal with
all the seemingly difficult situations in their last two
matches, Coach Bogdan Korak pointed out that the players have
been working very hard. The coach said the team has been told
not to give up until the game was finally over.
“They work hard.
Though they sometimes are tired, you still see them
continue to press hard. That is good for me, good for the team
and good for the supporters and everybody,” he said
On the obvious errors committed by his
goalkeeper, he first described the one in the King Faisal clash
as catastrophic adding that he has been advising Isaac Amoako to
be alert and calm at the same time while in post.
He nonetheless maintained that his
goalkeeper has been fantastic on most occasions and that the
best thing to do to get the best out of him is to speak to him.
