After playing his first competitive match in almost five months,
Edward Affum says he is happy to be making positive inroads into
the first team, and that he will not rest on his oars on that.
He also says fans should not start judging
him by his performance last Sunday, but that they should hold
their peace as he will soon hit full fitness for them.
Commenting on the general team performance,
Affum , says though they could have played better than they did,
there was also the need for all to remain calm and be patient
with them.
“We should not forget that the match was a
derby and as such players come with their own agenda and
tactics”.
“It therefore behooved on us to take the
match in its own stride and play it tight to instructions “.
Though he could have scored a personal goal
and yet missed I, he says he was not going to be too tough on
himself because “I have just been fielded a position in the team
after a long period off, I therefore have to warm myself in one
match at a time”.
“I am sure by the time I play my third
match, a different script would be written about me”.
“I intend scoring more goals for the team
and it is only a matter of time for me to achieve that target,”
he said.
Affum before concluding the brief chat with
the paper had a special message for his fans.
“I thank them for showing faith with me
during my time of difficulties and I promise them that I will
not turn back on this chance. I thank them all for their
support”.
