The
victory over Hearts of Oak has not only brought the needed smile
back into the faces of the supporters, but is also the
much-needed ignition to start Kotoko's revival and onslaught
onto securing a well-deserved position on the league.
It is
also the point when all the resources of the club ranging from
management through supporters to sponsors would be harnessed
into superior performing gear where the sky will only be our
limit.
These and
many targets were what the Executive Board Chairman, Dr. K.K.
Sarpong spoke about as he spoke to Kotoko Express after the
club’s sweet victory over traditional nemesis, Hearts of Oak in
Accra last Sunday.
Very
elated yet calm and executive in his dark blue suit, Dr. Sarpong
expressed his satisfaction at the way all sectors of the club
and other stakeholders including some people he has branded
“special supporters” contributed to the success of the club in
Accra.
“This is
victory is one born out of total cooperation between the
technical, the playing body, management and the supporters”
“Everyone
played his part so well that in unity, we have been able to
achieve such a good result. We can also not forget the special
supporters who worked tirelessly including running logistics and
taking up bills for the clubs. We thank all and we are
appreciative of their contribution to the success chalked”.
With the
victory of Hearts done with and celebrated for only a day, the
team gets back to work to prepare for the impending FA cup match
between Kotoko and Deportivo FC at the Baba Yara Stadium on
Wednesday.
“We have
always insisted that we play one game at a time and our next
match on Wednesday means equally important to us as the Hearts
match”.
For the
doubting thomases about the performance of the team, he had a
special message for them: “I have always said that our slogan is
support to win and our victories should give them the reason to
come back to the family”.
“We are
on the path of revival and everyone should get involved. Kotoko
is a big family and we will like to see all our members joining
hands to move our wonderful team forward,” he added
