Ahead of potentially difficult assignments
awaiting Kumasi Asante Kotoko in both the Glo Premier League and
the MTN FA Cup competition, Assistant Coach, Prince Acheampong,
has urged supporters of the club to anxiety because the team’s
resolve is to take one game at a time.
He says talking and thinking about two three
matches at a time is an unhelpful exercise because the right
thing to do is to look at your immediate game and plan for it.
Besides the crunch MTN FA Cup match at home
to Aduana Stars on April 6, Kotoko will four days after that
encounter engage city rivals King Faisal in a Glo Premier League
fixture.
This will be followed by an equally
explosive duels in Tamale against struggling Real Tamale United,
Berekum Arsenal in Kumasi, Heart of Lions at Kpando and Ashantigold in Kumasi.
The Kotoko assistant coach says the team’s
resolution is to concentrate on their training sessions and
prepare adequately for every match. He said they would not rate
any game as bigger than the other explaining that every Kotoko
game is very important and that the team is aware of supporters’
huge expectation.
“They are going to be tough duels and we
know what the supporters want. We thank the management team for
arranging friendly games ahead of these matches. It will help us
to sharpen rough edges in our play. However, let us concentrate
on one game at a time because we are taking one game at a time
because we do not want to lose focus,” said Coach Sabuto.
Asked how well he is fitting into the Kotoko family, he said: “I
am doing my best just. So far I am happy with the support and
the respect accorded me by the players, the technical team, Ben
Nti, Kwame Baah-Nuakoh, Operations, Referee Okrah and everybody
especially Dr. K. K. Sarpong. He has total trust and confidence
in me and I am grateful to him,” said the coach.
