fans

For
heeding to their call to come to the stadium in their numbers,
management of Asante Kotoko FC has dedicated the sweet victory
over their nemesis, Aduana FC, to the vociferous fabulous fans
that made it to last Sunday’s match.
In a
telephone conversation with the administrative and acting public
affairs manager, Ben Nti, he expressed his contentment and
appreciation for the number of fans that turned up for the
match.
Though he
was still at the cash room of the Baba Yara Stadium tallying
figures and crosschecking counterfoils of tickets sold, he was
quick to say that the numbers that turned up was impressive.
“Even
though the figures are yet to be finalized, the fact that the
printed tickets were sold out gives us the feeling that the cash
totals would be good”.
He says
they adopted stringent measures at the gates and so it was very
difficult, if not impossible for anyone to have cheated on the
club.
On the
performance of the team, he expressed joy that in the last two
matches played, “it has been evidently clear that our players
have a superior conditioning and so are able to run their
opponents out of breath”.
“The fans
too were supportive of the efforts of the players and so it
would be selfish on our part if we shower all the praises on the
players and their technical team. Everyone, from the supporter
to everyone involved in Kotoko played their part excellently”.
“This is
the more reason why I am happy with the fans for the way they
first comported themselves and secondly supported the players to
victory”.
With the
Aduana threat scuttled, Ben Nti reminded the fans and all
members of the Kotoko family of another threat that they need to
deal with.
“We have
told you several times that we believe in taking one match at a
time and so having put Aduana at their rightful place by
crushing them at the Baba Yara Stadium
as promised, we now have our eyes set on another sweet
victory in Accra on Sunday”
“Just as
the fans put all their energies in the match to ensure victory,
I entreat them to go all out with their prayer support so the
team as they begin preparation for Sunday’s match. It is a tough
one, but I am sure that with our energies combined, the sky will
be our limit”.
Signing
off, he also paid tribute to the array of former management
members and players who turned up at the stadium in their
numbers to lend their fullest support to the team for victory.
“I saw
Jerry Asare, Alhaji Njee, Sarfo Gyamfi and many others whom I
cannot mention here for
lack of space and time. All these
great sons of the club have really shown that together, we can
achieve much as a team”.
“I want
to urge them to continue with their support for the team as in
unity lays strength,” he concluded.
