Kumasi Asante Kotoko would from next season be kitted by an American kit manufacturer, ERREA.

The new sponsorship arrangement will see the reputed sports kit manufacturer providing Kotoko with a wide range of football kits for the 2011/2012 season.

This was disclosed by the Executive Chairman of the club, Dr. K.K Sarpong at the National Circles Council Delegates Congress at the Sunyani Polytechnic last Saturday.

"We tried to produce our own kits – that is the Fabu Sports, this season but we have realised that the cost of production is huge. We have therefore signed a contract with ERREA to provide us with kits. It is a very credible company and we are sure they can deliver what we expect,” Dr. Sarpong told the gathering.

According to him, ERREA is expected to supply Kotoko with executive suits which would be worn by players on every match day, jerseys, training kits, bibs, tracksuits, boots as well as replica jersey for the supporters.

He also revealed that, starting next season the club would change the colour of its away strip explaining that instead of the current white and red strip, the club would revert to its previous and original colors, the green, black and yellow colours.

The Kotoko Executive chairman who was the Special Guest speaker of the event also touched on a wide range of issues relating to the club.

In his incisive delivery, he outlined management’s vision for club by maintaining that they are on track to deliver to expectation and therefore stressed on the need for the teeming supporters to contribute financially to help them plan for the club.

He also called on the supporters to unite solidly behind the club as he and his team of administrators would do anything humanly possible to bring the club back the glory days.

"The only thing that ensures the sustenance of the club's goodwill is unity. Let us eschew that usual habit of backbiting, greediness and the pull-him-down attitude," he said.

An appeal was made to the supporters to help fund the proposed project at the Adako Jachie training site.

To a thunderous applause, he assured the fans that during his tenure in office, he would work hard to chalked more victories over bitter rivals, Hearts of Oak, and on the lighter side revealed that he has become even more popular after the 2-0 win over Hearts.

"We have won many matches in the league but after the Hearts victory, I have become more popular and the atmosphere in the club has changed positively. Now I can say for a fact that with unity, we can beat them a lot more,” said Dr. K. K. Sarpong.

Other dignitaries at the function were the Deputy Minister of the Brong Ahafo Region, Eric Opoku; the Brong Ahafo Regional Football Association Chairman, Augustine Asante; representatives from the Referees Association of Ghana and Kotoko management members.
