Management
of Asante Kotoko FC has sent a special message of appreciation
and thanks to a staunch supporter of the club, David Siribour
Boateng, the MD for Hail Him Shipping Agency (HHSA) for his
marvelous contribution to last Sunday’s victory over Hearts of
Oak.
According
to a letter to that effect sighted by Kotoko Express, management
was particularly happy for the singular effort of the shipping
magnate in footing all the hotel bills and other logistics of
the club as they logged in the Greater Accra region for the
Hearts-Kotoko duel last Sunday.
Per
information available to this paper, David Siribour Boateng
footed bills to the tune of almost GH¢4,000 being the cost of
hotel accommodation, meals and other logistics for the forty
member contingent that made the trip.
Speaking
to Kotoko Express on the issue, the administrative and public
affairs manager of the club, Benjamin Nti, thanked David for his
gesture and asked that his gesture becomes an example for others
to emulate.
“It is
true that these gestures and many others are very synonymous
with Kotoko supporters but it is worth noting that David
Siribour by his gesture has raised the bar and standards of the
support of the club”.
“Kotoko is
forever grateful to his contribution to the success chalked and
would like to assure him that the Dr. K.K. Sarpong
administration will engrave his name in gold when the history of
the club under Dr. Sarpong’s administration comes to be
written”.
When
contacted on phone, the Tema based businessman in his humble
self admits that though he had taken up the bill, it was rather
his contribution and appreciation for the club that brings joy
to him.
“If there
is anyone who needs to thank somebody, it is rather me who has
to thank Kotoko for making me a happy person. The team continues
to bring joy to me and I am sure many others”.
“For as
long as we have life, I shall continue to support the club any
way that I could. I appreciate the good work that Dr. Sarpong
and his board and management teams are doing and that is the
small way we can help him do more for the club”.
It would
be recalled that last weekend’s gesture is not the only time
David Siribour Boateng was making such a contribution to the
success of the club.
Five weeks
ago, he presented a cheaque for GH¢1,000 to the club as his
contribution to the Apem Beba Fund when the team travelled to
Tema to play Tema Youth in a friendly match.
He has
also been a benefactor to many of Kotoko players whom he has
been motivating to give out their utmost performance for the
success of the club.
