It is not as if supporters of Kumasi Asante
Kotoko have not been supportive enough in the past. However,
recent developments in the club, which has seen a section of the
supporters calling for the heads of some of the players after
their perceived non-performance has prompted Samed Oppong to
appeal to the teeming fans to encourage players the more to
enable them perform.
The Kotoko midfielder made the appeal in an
interview with Kotoko Express.
He also says the players are professionals,
and are therefore fully aware of their duties and would
therefore remain committed to performing those duties to
expectation.
The role of the supporters, he says could
not be underestimated in ensuring that they carry out their
duties to perfection.
“We are the performers and they are the spectators. We all have
a role to play in making Kotoko highly successful. We love them.
We love to see their presence at the stadium. My little advice
to them however is that they should be more encouraging to us
that they are doing now,” said Samed Oppong whose unconvincing
form has at times attracted severe criticism from some
supporters.
