Management Statement on Events that
Transpired at Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday,
20th
2011 and outcomesAs was
widely talked about in town, the Executive Chairman, Dr. K. K.
Sarpong and his Special Assistant, Mr. Opoku Nti and
Administrative Manager, Benjamin Nti, held
meeting
with Coaches Bogdan Korak, Slobodan,
Prince Acheampong
together with former management members, Alhaji Abubakar Njee
and Mr. Opoku Afriyie.
Management members were eye-witnesses and
also received reports of
events that transpired at the Baba Yara Stadium last Sunday
involving the head coach, Bogdan Korak and his assistant, Prince
Acheampong, on one hand, and, Mr. Korak and David Ofei on the
other.
It was
therefore imperative that we called the coaches to give them a
hearing on the events as they unfolded at the stadium.
After
hearing them and analyzing the issues as raised and espoused,
management has come to the conclusion that the coach has for the
period of his stay in Kumasi not come to full grips with the
cultural and traditional differences between those of Ghana and
his home country, Serbia as well as supporters needs regarding
friendly and training matches
In order
for him not to repeat those actions, he has been made aware of
some of our cultural values and aspirations of supporters that
he needs to come into terms with as quickly as possible.
We
therefore ask our players and supporters to assist the coaches
to assimilate the Ghanaian cultural values as quickly as
possible.
Management also intends to investigate into
player, David Offei’s behavior during that very match and to
reprimand him if necessary.
Until the
release of any report of the investigations, we would kindly
urge all media practitioners’ to suspend their speculations on
the issues.
Signed.
Benjamin Nti
