Asante Kotoko’s Operations Manager, Ernest
Owusu Ansah, has observed that the level of competition
currently in the team can only bring good results if the players
continue to work hard during training sessions and also fight
for regular positions in the team.
He said the infusion of new players at the
beginning of the second round of the Glo Premier League brought
a significant level of change in the team’s general performance,
adding that the series of friendly matches lined up in the
coming weeks would definitely put the players in
the right shape.
Ernest Owusu Ansah explained that there was
the urgent need for management to recruit new players at the
time the fortunes of the club took a sharp decline, arguing that
the player reinforcement coupled with the hard work of both the
technical team and management could be cited for the positive
change that is gradually emerging.
“There is competition in the team at the
moment. We can also put it down to the infusion of new players.
Besides that everybody is working hard to get a regular place in
the team”.
The Operations Manager also had something to
say on the amount of technical work done by Coach Bogdan Korak
and his assistants.
“The endurance training has impacted
positively on our performance. If you have observed, the team
plays quite well and does not lose concentration in the second
half like they were doing previously”.
He further stated that the two-week camping
embarked upon at the time the league is on recess
could as well not be
discounted. He pointed out that the camping contributed
immensely to the steady and positive change being seen.
