Kwesi Nyantakyi wins polls onto the CAF

The General Assembly of the
Confederation of Africa Football have
elected Ghana's Kwesi Nyantakyi onto its
Executive Committee.
Nyantakyi, President of the Ghana
Football Association secured a
comprehensive majority over Benin's
Anjorin Moucharafou to represent the
Zone West B bloc on the Caf Executive
Committee.
The 43 year-old pulled 34 votes to be
declared the winner with Anjorin
recording 19 as 53 delegates went to the
polls in Khartoum, Sudan.
Nyantakyi, who was making his first
continental electoral attempt ends
country's 17-year wait and becomes the
first Ghanaian to secure a place on the
Executive Committee since 1994 when Sam
Okyere last served in the post.
