Kotoko’s Executive Board Chairman, Dr. K. K.
Sarpong, says that the club’s rebuilding process is well on
track.
According to the chairman, there was the
need to revamp the team at the end of the first round of the Glo
Premier League explaining that the performance of the team has
gone up considerably following the introduction of new players.
“We had to revamp the team. There has been a
whole range of experiments. We have been looking at tactics and
the physique of the players and we are quite happy with the
response”
The Executive Chairman said great financial
resource had to be injected into the team and explained however
that the club even had to recruit some of the players on credit.
“We bought players on credit. We paid for
just a quarter of the players we bought and it will take nine
months to pay. We are making payments and by September ending we
would have finished paying” said Dr. K. K. Sarpong.
In response to a question as to whether the
leadership of the club has set specific targets for Coach Bogdan
Korak, the Executive Board Chairman had this to say: “We always
want to win. We are rebuilding the team. Korak has bought into
that idea and I believe we are making progress”.
