Two Kotoko players whose activeness and
presence in the team was cut short albeit momentarily by
injuries have regained their fitness.
The two players – Albert Bruce and John
Kuffour were part of the team that lined-up against Danbort FC
last Sunday for the round of 64 MTN FA Cup match honoured at the
Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Whereas John Kuffour suffered a knee injury,
Albert Bruce was knocked out by a foot injury he sustained while
in the camp of the national U-20 side, the Black Satellites more
than a month ago.
Last Sunday, John Kuffour was part of the
team, but he did not taste action as he sat through at the
bench.
His colleague, Albert Bruce however played
for 38 minutes when he came on as a substitute for Frank Boateng
just seven minutes into the second half.
Although Bruce came on at the time the team
had already taken the 3-0 lead, he made immense contributions to
the game, playing as confidently as he has always done since
becoming part of the Porcupine fold.
He has told Kotoko Express in a post match
interview that he has fully regained his strength and was eager
to recapture his position in the team, adding that the level of
competition currently in the Kotoko team is such that beside
being fit and healthy, one needs to play excellently in order to
be part of the team regularly.
Albert Bruce indicated that his presence in
the national team would even motivate him to give his best
arguing that how well he performs at Kotoko would have a
positive effect on his national team performance and vice versa.
He called for total support from the teeming
followers of the club and urged them not to lose hope because
things would be well by the end of the season.
It would be recalled that both John Kuffour and Albert Bruce
featured well in the Kotoko U-20 and Berekum Chelsea reserve
league match which the Young Porcupines won by two goals to one.
