The break of the
Ghanaian league for the Championship of African Nations (CHAN)
in Sudan
has come as a good omen for Coach Bogdan Korak and his
assistants.
To him, it is a
good opportunity for the technical team to fix the loose ends of
the team and also seek answers to the problems that militated
against his team that resulted in the stagger run they
encountered.
According to
Korak, he has drawn a comprehensive programme and handed over to
management for action and that he has carefully blended it for
serious training and fun.
“For now, it is
going to be intensive training here in
Kumasi
before the road show that has been planned would start”.
“My plan is to
make the players enjoy the difficult training sessions we shall
be having as such, we will train hard and also play matches
along the way. The travels around the country will give the
players a change of environment and they will enjoy it,” Korak
told Kotoko Express.
Speaking on the
programme as arranged for the club, the Operations Manager,
Ernest Owusu Ansah, informed Kotoko Express that the team would
be getting busy through out to get into a right shape before the
re-start of the season.
“We have received
the coaches requests and programme and we are living no stone
unturned to ensure that he gives the team the right preparation
to make up for the ones we could not do during the pre-season”.
“Besides making
up for the lost period, the mid-season training and camping will
also help the continuing and newly signed players the
opportunity to blend and bond well for the benefit of the club”.
“Though we intend
to have a road show, we will have it planned such that the
travels around will not have a negative toll on the players. We
are therefore going to restrict our selves to playing around
Kumasi
and on a few occasions travel into other regions”.
Per the programme
as seen by Kotoko Express, the team will have intensive training
sessions in Kumasi after Sunday’s
FA Cup match against Danbort F.C and then travel to Asante
Bekwai to play a local side, Bekwai
Youth
Academy on Wednesday 2nd
February 2011.
On the weekend
after the Bekwai match, i.e.5th February, Kotoko will
host the Black Meteors in a friendly encounter at the Baba Yara
Stadium in Kumasi.
The training
schedule will continue until Wednesday 9th February
2011 when the team will travel to the Port city, Tema, to play
Division One campaigners, Tema Youth in another friendly
encounter at the
Tema
Park.
The team will
then stay on in Tema after the match and play another Division
Campaigner, Accra Great Olympics, in Accra
before travelling back to base in
Kumasi.
The Accra trip will end first
round of the road show, as the team would be expected to take it
easy on training before embarking on the second leg, which is
yet to be confirmed and announced.
