Pharmaceutical company Kinapharma is bound
to become the next sponsor of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Executive
Board Chairman of the club Dr. K. K. Sarpong has disclosed.
The hardworking club chairman made this
disclosure last week during the signing of the Kotoko-MTN
sponsorship agreement at the refurbished club’s secretariat in
Kumasi.
According to Dr. K. K. Sarpong, Kumasi
Asante Kotoko and Kinapharma have “crafted a novel agreement”
which would soon be made known. He added that his leadership
would stop at nothing to bring the best to the most revered and
supported club in
Ghana.
Dr. K. K. Sarpong also hinted that other
companies would soon be brought on board to sponsor Kotoko in
diverse ways.
Since September last year, the Dr. K. K.
Sarpong administration has entered into three lucrative
sponsorship agreements with respected and notable companies in
the country – the latest of which is the MTN deal which is worth
28.5 billion old Ghana cedis for 2 ½
years.
The first of these sponsorship agreements
Dr. K. K. Sarpong and his team brokered months after assuming
office was with Next Generation Broadcasting (NGB), operators of
Smart TV who as per the contract arrangement with Kotoko has the
right to produce and broadcast the Kotoko TV.
Besides the mouthwatering financial package
Kotoko is to receive over the next years from NGB, the club
proudly received a brand new 30-seater bus currently being used
by the reserve side.
Next to follow was Interplast whose deal
with the club is worth 100,000
Ghana
cedis (1billion old cedis). When completed and announced, the
Kinapharma deal would therefore be the fourth for Kotoko whose
leadership are really bent on managing affairs well in order to
reclaim their right status not only in Ghana football
but also across the continent.
