In compliance with an
advice issued to Ghanaian players by former Zamalek player,
Rahim Ayew, striker Alex Asamoah has opted for Egyptian
club, Ismailia, over Zamalek .
"I was approached by Zamalek earlier but I
turned down the offer after Rahim Ayew (ex-Zamalek) warned me…
Ayew told me that African players have no role at Zamalek”
“In addition to Rahim’s advice, my friend,
Eric Bekoe of Petrojet in Egypt
also advised me to join
Ismailia
as he said things were better there”.
Confirming the move, Administrative Manager,
Benjamin Nti says Kotoko has received an offer from the Egyptian
club and that Alex Asamoah who has been in and out of the
country over the past weeks could finally be leaving.
“We have had an offer from Ismailia and it is true he could be leaving”
