Gideon
Baah’s recovery on course
By: Jerome Otchere
Young and intelligent defender,
Gideon Baah’s recovery from a broken leg is on course and
progressing steadily.
Gideon, who sustained a
career-threatening injury in a Kotoko-Hearts league match at the
Baba Yara Sports Stadium last season, is at least ruled out of
the first round of the 2010/2011 season.
However, his steady progress in
regaining his strength is a piece of good news.
Speaking to Kotoko Express over
the weekend, the 2007 MTN Soccer Academy reality show winner
said he presently feels better. He explained that the road to
recovery has been long and uneasy but was not discouraged as he
intends to strive on to the end when he receives full fitness.
“I feel better now. I am making
good progress with recovery. It has not been easy though,”
Gideon said.
The Kotoko star has been
undergoing cardio and physiotherapy exercises such as swimming
and unaided walking under strict supervision.

He does not know exactly when he
would return to action but is however clear in mind that he
would be fit to play again.
Gideon Baah thanked his parents
and entire family for their priceless support and also expressed
his gratitude to his UK-based agent, Eby Eme Nike.
“I thank them all and Kotoko FC
and supporters for taking good care of me and aiding in my road
to recovery. They have done their part. I am grateful to
everybody” he said.

When contacted for a medical
insight into Gideon Baah’s current state of recovery, Team
Doctor, Kwaku Boateng, disclosed that the player has been having
four times a week of physiotherapy sessions at the KNUST Gym
with each session lasting an hour.
The doctor added that Gideon Baah
was making good progress and that he would be fit for action
soon. |
