Free Meals for Kotoko players

By: Jerome Otchere, Kumasi

Asante Kotoko players are now given food after training sessions free of charge.

From Monday to Wednesday they are given breakfast whereas they take dinner on Thursdays and Fridays.

The new development according to the Public Affairs Manager, Jarvis Peprah is part of management’s welfare policies aimed at motivating the playing body.

Speaking to Kotoko Express in an interview last week, the Public Affairs Manager disclosed that this welfare policy would be sustained as long as the finances of the club permit.

“We intend to maintain it as much as our finances would make it possible. The players like it. So we will do our best to keep it on-going” said Jarvis Peprah.

The new Team Manager, George Asare also lauded the idea and said it is a positive development. He opined that besides indicating how well management cares about the players’ well-being.

“It’s a very good idea. Sometimes immediately after training, you feel like eating to replenish the energy lost. So the food we provide comes in handy”.

“The players feel good about it. It will help in reducing the amount of money they spend on food. They like it and we are happy about the whole thing” added the Team Manager.

Goalkeeper Isaac Amoako – a notable member of the playing body could also not hide his excitement over the latest development.

“It’s a very good thing” said the goaltender. “In a way it boosts our morale. Sometimes when you return home after training you do not even get enough time to eat. There’s the temptation to sleep because of tiredness. So this food service is great! You eat immediately after training, wash down and rest for the next training session” said Amoako.

I am happy to see the website alive again! I must commend the new management team for the good work so far. I would like to bring to the notice of the Editor something I have found on the players portal which i think is in bad taste. Please lets project our players to get higher our own way. The role models attached to the profiles of the players should be deleted. These guys are professionals in their own right and as such should be treated as adults. Attaching Ronaldo etc as role models do not help our quest to sell the Kotoko brand. No team in europe has role models of their players included in their profiles. Please lets be proud of the Ashante warriors we have now. They can have role models but they shoudnt be displayed on the clubs website for all to see. Keep on the good work!

This is a very nice idea that must be sustained by Management, but it needs the support of all Kotoko loving supporters all over the world. More grease to your elbows, MANAGEMENT. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!

It's very good idea taken. this will help the players to be satisfied with their needs and also to ensure that every player is concentrated on what he is doing .thanks for doing such a wonderful job to improve the future of kotoko.

I think we can look for an official meal sponsor of the club, so that we can also give the restaurants publicity

It is a very good idea and I pray that the management will employ a very competent dietician to take care of the food for the players. Kudos to management.
