Players and
members of technical team continue to live in joy as Executive
Board chairman, Dr. K.K Sarpong continues to captivate them with
his class-act leadership style.
In addition to
the many good things that have been rolled at the feet of the
team to give them the peace of mind to deliver for the success
of the club, Dr. K. K Sarpong has introduced yet another
innovation to the amazement of the players.
After a meeting
with the team on Sunday morning, the board chairman did not only
leave them with good news for them to smile about for the days
to come, but also left an indelible mark on their minds and
hearts.
As the players
lined up for their breakfast, the saw an unusual participant in
their morning ritual of going to get served, and before they
could say ‘jack’, there was the executive board chairman in the
queue waiting for his turn to be served.
With his porridge
and bread with sausages served, he took a spot at the dinning
table and did ‘justice’ to his meal.
Though Alhaji
Bahmed was with the board chairman at the meeting, he could not
go to the table as he is actively partaking in the on-going
Ramadan fasting. He therefore interacted with the players
instead.
Almost all the
players were dumb-founded, but as he took his meal and at the
same time, shared some jokes with those around, the ice broke
and all around felt the freedom to fraternize.
In private
conversation with one of the new signings into the team, he
expressed surprise at the show of humanism by the board
chairman.
“I have played
for two different premiership clubs, but this is the first time
I have seen a club president and a very respectable one as we
have come down to share meals with the players”.
“On the occasion
that we saw some club presidents come to the table, they either
waited for the players to leave or come early so that they could
be served their ‘special requests’.
“I feel happy
playing for such a person and I will work or my energies to make
his tenure a very successful one,” the anonymous player said.
At the meeting
itself, he spoke to the players about the programmes they have
up their sleeves for them and urged them to continue with the
comportment they have exhibited whilst in camp.
He assured them
that those who were owed monies would be sorted out before the
league started.
In fulfilment of
their promises to the players when they went to play Ebusua
Dwarfs two weeks ago, the players were handed the money for
doing their part of the bargain by winning the match. |
