Can Johnson Smith fully handle
Kotoko?
3rd April 2010
Former assistant coach, Johnson Smith, has
been assigned to take charge of the club to the end of the
season. In your opinion, can he do the job?

I was surprised when management of Kotoko decided to sack Smith.
I am glad he is back to save the team. I have confidence in him.
I hope that Allah gives him the wisdom and courage to
successfully coach the team.
YAW OWUSU-ANSAH, AKOSOMBO
PLEASE, MAKE NO MISTAKE. SMITH IS IN CONTROL, THERE SHOULD BE NO
GOING BACK ON SMITH. WE SHOULD ALLOW HIM TO HANDLE THE TEAM
UNTIL THE END OF THE SEASON AND THEN WHEN A NEW BOARD TAKES
OVER, THEY CAN DECIDE THEN WHETHER THEY WOULD LIKE TO RETAIN HIM
OR NOT.
Francis, Tema Ghana
He can't. Forget it! Whoever thought this man can handle Kotoko
is joking and daydreaming. Kotoko is not for undergraduates.
Please give Paa Kwasi more time to build a strong Kotoko team
SIMON ATTIE BAGHDAD
He cannot do any thing better. we should go for a better coach
Bashir Hayford is the right person, Abdul Razak or go for a
foreign coach but first of all the management should bow their
heads in shame. they must also go and fast as they are the worst
to have handled Kotoko. Otumfuo Please don't waste time , they
have disgraced us.
PATRICK OWUSU...A P OLY
I always come to Kotoko website to check on news and stuff...but
will love if they try to update the site every 3days or at-least
week...i think it will really help us to know more things about
the club and stop speculating
Boakye Mick Omari, Asesewa-ER
For how long will Kotoko management learn from their past
mistakes? can't they give the team to a coach for three seasons
without interference? their way of doing things is killing the
club. smith can't do it alone.
OSEI YAW, OMAN.
I think smith should be allowed to continue. but Kotoko is
suffering from kick backing and back biting from management and
coaches after coaches that is why we cannot perform well at this
generation. it should stop. BUT SMITH THE CUP IS LIKE POLICEMAN
PLS TAKE IT OFF. WE ARE BEHIND YOU.
Kwadwo Kusi-Appiah,
let us go for Bashir Hayford for next season,2010-2011
otherwise......
SAMUEL, MIM
The deal is very simple. I hope Smith can do the Job so far as
he concentrates. There are galaxy of stars in Kotoko's fold. If
a team have Ofosu Appiah, Jordan Opoku, Kojo Poku, Kabiru M,
Baffour Djan &co then what should stop you from being a top
position on the league table? The stars are there so just build
the confidence back, assign them the role and hope they will win
matches for us.
Kwame Baah, Ksi
I think it has been long overdue, this has been a man who
assisted Bashiru Hayford and when he was bereaved he deputised
perfectly for us to win the league that season. What else do we
want in a coach. Let us all support him and i can bet my last
penny that he will succeed.
Adjeo, Kumasi
Let us all keep our fingers acrossed to support Smith.
Johnson Adomako UDS-Wa
I think Kotoko should make him head coach because he has been
assistant from time to time. Please get a coach with an attitude
to coach the swollen-headed boys. Ahhh

Better choice but why it took management to let Paa Kwesi go is
something I don't get it. He should have gone with Yaw Ofun
Acheampong. Romeo,
Sakumono-Tema
The management shuld sign a five year contract with the coach.
This contract will be renewable every year based on set targets
and performance. This way, we can plan ahead and be like all the
top teams in the world. We are tired of sacking and appointing
coaches every now and then.
k. oppong, washington, u.s.a
let's go for razack or bashiru,
By the way , can you guys update the web site atleast every 3
days?
cos is like the samething we read everyday .
victor,
Tema, Ghana
I believe strongly what our great club needs to be strong again
is the appointment of a professional football administrator who
will be given free hand to work, not IMCs.
Shadrack, KNUST
Kotoko needs a coach who can handle the stars well and motivate
them. I think J.S has been with the club for quite a long time
and is capable to lead the porcupine warriors for the rest of
the season and probably next season.
Kwame Gyamfi, Virginia USA
If can stamp his authority on the team with regards to
discipline, I am sure the rest would fall in place. He should
have no favorites and make everybody work to deserve to play and
he must move swiftly to make tactical changes if the going gets
rough.
AMOFA, U.S.A
CAN YOU PLEASE UPDATE EVERYDAY? CUS THIS IS NOT A SMALL TEAM
THAT WE SHOULD NOT GET SOMETHING TO READ EVERYDAY. ALWAYS THE
SAME OLD STORIES. GIVE US AN UPDATE, THANKS
Kapilo ( Chicago )
I agree to what one of the writers said. First , the management
should go because they have failed to manage the team. When we
were losing matches they were there. If it was spiritual, it is
not the duty of the coach to look for remedy but the management.
For coaching we should go Razak or a foreign one or maybe
Bashiru Hayford will also do. Paa Kwasi should go.
DERRICK AKA SIKAWURA FROM
KUMASI
i believe he can make it so we should pray for him and only for
this season and go four bashiru to handle the next season i
think it will help us and where is kojo poku and alex asamoah

iF AM NOT MISTAKEN I WAS THE 1ST PERSON WHO ADVISED
THE MGT NOT TO SACK HIM IN THE 1ST PLACE. THIS IS THE PERSON WHO
WAS IN CHARGE OF THE TEAM WHEN BASH WAS ABSENT. HE IS NOT A
PRODUCT OF KOTOKO BUT WHEN HE WAS CONTRACTED AS ASSISTANT COACH
OF KOTOKO, HE WAS WAS SO HAPPY IAS IF HE WAS IN THE FAMILY
BEFORE. THIS IS THE SORT PEOPLES WE WANT TO COME TO KOTOKO. NOT
EVERYBODY WHO IS IN KOTOKO (PLAYERS/COACHES) LOVERS THE TEAM BUT
JUST FOR MONETARY OR BUSINESS/PROFESSIONAL. AS FOR ME I AM
PRAYING FOR HIM TO BE SUCCESSFUL COACH IN KOTOKO. FOR SHORT HE
WILL DEFINATELY SUCCEED IN KOTOKO.
KAM
Smith is not the man for the future. Guys, don't be excited
about a crisis situation and a four match success please.
Oppong Kyekyeku, Accra
HE CAN DO IT MORE THAN EXPECTED AS IS BEING SHOWN. THE MGT MADE
MISTAKE BY LISTENING TO PAA KWASI AND SACKED HIM IN THE FIRST
PLACE. HE IS SOMEBODY WHOM I HAVE WANTS TO REMAIN IN THE
KOTOKO FAMILY. LETS ALL SUPPORT. HE CAN DELIVER VERY WELL. WHO
DOES NOT WANT TO SUCCESSFUL IN THIS FAMILY. HE WANTS TO MAKE A
NAME FOR HIMSELF.
