Afranie Yeboah states claim for Kotoko’s midfield
17-04-2010
Getting to play in Kotoko’s
midfield may be a daunting task as there are good materials to
compete with, by to the not regularly featured midfielder,
Afranie Yeboah, his intention is to through hard work and
dedication to the cause of the club, capture the Kotoko
midfield.
He has also stated that he was in
no mood to let go the lifeline that has been handed him by Coach
Johnson Smith.
According to the former Sporting
Merrin hard tackling midfielder who played his third match of
the season on Sunday against Liberty Professionals F.C, he has
always been around except that he did not command a starting
line-up.
“I do not believe that my not
getting a regular slot was as a result of poor performance on my
part. However, I have put whatever happened in the past to the
litterbin and that am looking forward to consolidating the
position that has been offered in the team”.
“I know it will not be an easy
challenge to put up, but I am ready for the competition and I
know that when it gets to a point to be crowned, I will emerge
victorious”.
Assessing his own performance as
he put up against Liberty Professionals, Afranie says though he
did well by adhering to the instructions he believes he was not
up to his full capacity:
“And since there is more room for
improvement on my performance, I will go back to training and do
more work so as to play better in my next match”.
His major problem in the match was
how to get a telepathic playing partner in the middle and this
has come about because of the fact that he has not played under
match conditions with his colleagues and so most of them did not
understand his passing concept.
“All these would end when I get
more playing time in the team. Over time, we will get to
understand our selves and the many wayward passes we made will
be a thing of the past because they will know where to run to
when I get the ball in the middle”.
“On the whole, the team did well”.
On the way forward, he assured
that he was doing well and that he is ready to do all the he
could to get into the playing form. |
