Updates on
injured players
Godfred
Yeboah
The ace defender who recovered
well from a previous injury a couple of weeks back was
substituted in last Sunday’s home tie against Sporting Mirren
after 45 minutes.
He featured prominently against
Bechem Chelsea but things seem not to have gone well for him
last Sunday. It can be confirmed that has successfully undergone
laboratory and other checks, and treatment, and he has already
join his colleagues in camp.
It is not too clear whether
Godfred will be featured in the Liberty-Kotoko match on Sunday.
Ofosu
Appiah
The former Heart of Lions defender
has practically not been active since the Kotoko-Bechem Chelsea
match in the Otumfuo Challenge Cup. The young and robust
defender sustained an injury in the said match and needed ample
time to recover.
Even after what appeared to be a
good recovery, Dr. Kwaku Boateng says Ofosu Appiah needs time to
recover.
However, Ofosu Appiah trained on
Wednesday and has been consistent since. Should he continue to
show good recovery before Saturday, he could be in action after
weeks of absence.
Ofosu
Amoah
The diminutive right-winger
sustained a foot injury before the Kotoko-Heart of Lions which
the latter lost by a lone goal.
He was initially ruled out for ten
days and later one month – a situation which made him extremely
worried.
The good news is that Ofosu Amoah
trained actively late last week. Though he reported of malaria
earlier this week, he has responded well to treatment and could
feature in any of the last round of league matches if his
fitness and performance meet Coach Herbert Addo’s standard.
Osei
Kwame Junior & Francis Akwaffo
The experienced left-back, who is
indeed of one Kotoko’s longest serving players crashed out of
the club’s away duel against Real Tamale United (RTU).
Osei Kwame Junior was in fact one
of the three players who sustained injuries in that match, which
consequently caused the forced substitutions made by Coach
Herbert Addo.
Dr. Kwaku Boateng has told
www.asantekotokofc.org that Osei Kwame Junior is yet to recover
fully and that his case is much more like Francis Akwaffo who
has however started what the doctor termed as “light jogging”.
Richard
Manu & Eric Nii Baah
Richard Manu, according to Dr.
Kwaku Boateng reported of malaria earlier this week and was
treated. The defender who was transferred-listed and recalled
later is yet to feature for the club since his return.
Goal keeper Eric Nii Baah on the
hand has responded well to treatment since it was last reported
that he was down with malaria. |
